We are incredibly pleased to announce that Lifeworks Services is a sponsor for our annual celebration, The Art of We: Are More Than One Story, on May 17 at the Science Museum!
Lifeworks Services was the first Adult Day program to partner with Upstream Arts, starting our history together in 2005. Since then, we’ve been collaborating to provide high-quality programming on everything from social skills to informed decision-making to healthy relationships. Ryan Underdahl, of Lifeworks Services, wrote, “What everyone at Lifeworks loves about Upstream Arts is its focus on promoting self-confidence, independence, and choice.” And we love Lifeworks’ commitment to these same values. They strive to offer exceptional care and provide daily opportunities for social growth and interaction.

Founded by parents of children with disabilities in 1965, Lifeworks Services now provides support to over 2,500 individuals with disabilities and their families in the Twin Cities and Mankato areas. Through fiscal support, employment, and day services, Lifeworks works towards a community where people with disabilities are more broadly valued, have greater opportunities for employment, and participate in ordinary activities. You can learn more about how Lifeworks Services expands the possible narratives of the people they serve at http://www.lifeworks.org.
In June of 2017, Lifeworks was one of our collaborators in creating The Art of Me, a public performance and conversation. It was a joy to see participants take center stage and to hear one say, “I was able to express myself without judgement.” We are in total agreement with another of the participants who said, “It was good and fun!”
We’re honored by Lifeworks’ long-standing support and full of gratitude for their sponsorship, which will help promote inclusivity by keeping our annual event free and accessible. Thank you, Lifeworks Services!
